The Search Queries report shows what phrases users enter and how well the search results work.

Search Queries

Statistics on user search queries.

Includes:

  • Number of searches.

  • Number of unique users per query.

  • CTR (Click-Through Rate) — ratio of clicks on search results to total searches, showing how often users follow results.

  • Most popular article clicked for a given query.

  • Refinement share — whether the user ran a repeated query to refine results.

Counted:

  • Recorded when a user enters a search query.

Why to track:

  • Evaluate search quality and how well results match user expectations.

  • Analyze user interests and needs based on top queries.

  • Detect queries with low CTR that may indicate irrelevant results or weak article titles.

Article Ranking Analysis

Statistics for articles users open from search.

Includes:

  • Most popular article for a specific search query.

  • Average clicked position for a given query.

  • Number of clicks on the article from search.

  • CTR — ratio of clicks on search results to total searches. Shows how often users follow results after entering a query.

Counted:

  • Recorded when a user clicks an article or catalog from search results.

Why to track:

  • Understand which queries bring users in and what content they expect.

  • Assess article relevance to a query using CTR and click count.

  • Find queries with impressions but low CTR as targets for improving articles or snippets.

  • Prioritize articles for updates and development.
