Browsing History

The Browsing History report shows how users interact with the portal: how many views articles receive, what the visits are like, and how many unique visitors come to the site.

Views

Number of views per article.

Counted:

  • On first portal visit.

  • On each URL change (between articles/sections).

Why to track:

  • See which articles are read most often.

  • Find materials that need more attention.

  • Evaluate the impact of releases on reader behavior.

Visits

User sessions up to 30 minutes.

Counted:

  • Session starts when user opens the site.

  • Session extends automatically while user is active.

  • After 30 minutes of inactivity, a new session starts.

Why to track:

  • Understand how actively the portal is used.

  • Distinguish one-time visits from longer reading sessions.

  • Evaluate how often users return.

Visitors

Unique portal users.

Counted:

  • Uniqueness model: device or browser.

  • The same person on different devices is counted as different visitors.

Why to track:

  • Evaluate portal reach.

  • Understand whether the audience is growing.

  • Compare user activity across different periods.
