Auto Updates

Available only in the desktop version.

The tab shows the app's current version.

  • Check for updates — runs a manual check. Result: an update is found, the version is already current, or an error.

  • Update check frequency — on every launch, once a day, once a week, or never. Default is on every launch. Between launches, the app doesn't check more often than the chosen interval, and with Never, automatic checks don't run at all. A manual check with the Check for updates button works regardless of this setting.

  • Install from cache — pick an archive of the version you need, and the app installs it and restarts. This is how you can go back to a previous version if a new one turns out unstable.

After installing from cache, auto-update keeps working at the chosen frequency and may offer the same new version again — to stay on the older one, turn off checking (Never).

Update Cache

The cache keeps up to 6 of the most recently downloaded versions — their archives are what Install from cache offers. Older versions are evicted from the cache automatically.

If the version you need isn't in the cache, you can download it from the update server's download page: it has every version for every channel (prod, dev) and platform — Windows, macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon), Linux (AppImage, deb, rpm), Android, iOS. Install the downloaded installer manually over the current version.
