Agent

The AI agent is an assistant in chat that helps you work with the catalog and the workspace. Here's what it can do:

  • Read and search article content and catalog navigation, as well as the entire workspace.

  • Create, edit, move, and delete articles, including their properties: title, order, custom properties.

  • Read attachments: PDF, DOCX, XLSX.

  • Access other systems' APIs over HTTP.

  • Read repository files, including code.

How to install

  1. Set up and start the AI service — follow the AI features installation guide.

  2. Enable the agent in Experimental featuresChat with agent.

How it works

  1. You enter a request in the agent panel.

  2. Depending on the task, the agent reads files, searches the catalog, edits, creates, or moves articles.

  3. The result appears in the chat:

    • A text response appears as plain text.

    • Each agent action appears as a separate card with a name and status.

    • Multiple consecutive actions are grouped into one block — expand it to see the details of the agent's task.

    • Catalog navigation updates immediately after articles are created, deleted, or moved.

The agent answers not only from the catalog's content but also from information on the internet — useful for questions that need up-to-date data, like the latest version of a library.

Turn on the web search toggle in the agent panel — without it, the agent can't search the internet.

Available only in the desktop app.

Sessions

Each conversation with the agent is a separate session. The session isn't interrupted when switching between catalogs, switching sessions, or opening and closing the agent panel. To open the list of sessions, click the Chat history icon in the panel header. Click a session to open it, or click the icon to start a new one.

Skills

A skill is a saved set of instructions for the agent. The agent can always use available skills at its own discretion — to make sure it uses a specific skill, attach it to the chat manually.

  1. Create a skill. In the catalog settings, open Tools → Agent skills → + New skill.

  2. Attach a skill to the chat. Above the input field, click the paperclip icon and select a skill under Agent skills — it appears as a tag below the input field.
