Multilanguage

Any catalog can be made multilingual, allowing articles to be displayed not only in the primary language but in additional ones as well.

  • You can set a primary language for the catalog and add supplementary languages. To view articles in an additional language, readers will need to switch the language on the reader portal.

  • Supported languages include 17 popular ones: English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, Russian, French, Arabic, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Turkish, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, and Czech.

  • It's important to note that the structure of the catalog remains the same across different languages. Translations are added separately for each article.

  • Translations apply only to the articles themselves and do not affect the language of the application's or reader portal's interface.

Add Language

  1. Click on Configure Catalog and specify the main language.

The main language can be specified only once in Configure Catalog. It can only be changed in the catalog configuration file.

  2. In the upper right corner, click on the name of the main language. Then click + Add Language and select it from the dropdown list.

Translate Articles

  1. Switch to the additional language within the application.

  2. Open the article you want to translate. The version of the article in the primary language will be displayed on the right side.

  3. Enter the text of the article in the additional language.

If an article does not yet have a translation, its title will appear faded in the left navigation panel, and it will not be displayed on the reader portal. An article with a completed translation will appear as usual.

Publish Translations

To publish translated articles:

  1. Once translations are completed, publish them.

  2. In the storage, translations will be stored in separate folders labeled with the additional language code.
